Bro. Being semetic, though it does have some roots in biblical beliefs, doesn't exclusively mean that since pretty much many groups in the middle east are considered semetic like egyptians, Assyrians, and Sumerians. Semite isn't a unifying ethnic identity. Not just Jews.

You couldn't easily convert to Judaism whenever you felt like it like Christianity.
Second,
the Spanish Inquisition primarily targeted Sephardic Jews (Spanish Jews) and conversos (forced converts) accused of secretly practicing Judaism.
Ashkenazis didn't play a part in that.

Second, even though the term was made by a Zionist aka Wilhelm Marr who wanted to have the Jews placed somewhere else so Germany didn't have to deal with them, he in no way liked the Jews. He thought the Jewish victory was the end for the Germans.
