Needing better forwards is a fact, for sure. We lack a cutting edge and it has been clear to see since GW1 which is why I was really worried when it wasn't addressed in Jan. I thought it was because we were gonna go for Gyokeres, but now that seems off the cards too and it makes it more baffling

Casemiro I am willing to agree with but this was a real subpar performance from Ugarte, his positional awareness was really poor and his special awareness was also poor. I wasn't half surprised when he came off at HT, in my humble opinion

We did have some good build up sequences for sure, but that is most games and the keyword is "some", it wasn't anywhere near enough, we did get close to their box and then we were wasteful/stupid. I don't think however this warrants any praise.

Also let's not forget they played 120 mins of football just a few days ago. When I say we lacked physicality, I don't just mean the amount of duels we lost or how weak we are. It was the lack of running from everyone bar the back 3, the lack of fight, losing near enough every 50/50.

I agree with the second part of your comment 100%, we were wasteful, but the 70% possession against Forrest doesn't mean much when that is how they play. They absorb pressure and play fast and direct. They allowed us to play with the ball knowing there is no way we break down their low block

To be fair we are probably going to play better against City than we did here because the game will be more open than tonight. Also, hopefully the rust from the international break would be gone because it was glaringly obvious today we were very rusty

I really don't think it was anywhere near as good as people think. From min 5 onwards we allowed Forrest to play exactly how they wanted to, we fell into their trap. We were sloppy with our passing for about 70 mins of the game. I was hardly impressed, we lacked physicality and technicality

Christ that is a horrible stat to look at. We always take longer to kick into gear and I had noticed that we go down first a lot, but I didn't think it was this bad
