As a supporter of democracy I have to ask myself - if a country votes for fascism and then gets fascism in return... how am I supposed to feel? As an outsider I am tempted towards the FAFO mindset. My concern is mainly for the other countries that will feel the ripple effects.

I have to say that Bluesky coverage of the Vancouver tragedy was just not good enough when people are seeking information asap. I had to resort to searching twitter through xcancel.com as I deleted my account long ago. Still a ways to go before Bluesky can catch up for breaking events.

South Korea's martial law only being reversed because the opposition had a majority in parliament isn't such a great win to me. What would have happened if he had a majority?
