According to Dries Buytaert in his DrupalCon Vienna keynote, #drupal Canvas 1.0 will be released next month and Drupal CMS 2.0 (which will include Canvas) will (hopefully) be released in January - followed by a "major marketing push" beginning in March. 🎨🚀📣
