Hear me out: what if the lights on these streets were intentionally timed to discourage speeding, because the driver would be more likely to hit the red? For instance, greens all the way up Kent, but timed for 50km/h.

(Full disclosure: I have no idea how these work in Ottawa.)

For all of my complaints of dealing with #autowa and the shortcomings of #ottcity, I genuinely find daily joy in commuting by bike, esp along the canal and the rivers. I designed my #ottbike commute and I wouldn’t change it (even for an easier drive and free parking). streets.mn/2022/09/22/c...

Final thought: Glass bottles are environmentally friendlier, but companies don’t like them. Beverage companies around the world have been phasing them out for plastic/aluminum because it’s less work for them. But in most countries, they don’t have a recycling system to handle it. So more waste.

This is a cost-cutting measure for Moosehead Breweries. Pint-sized cans will replace the 333ml bottles. More volume, easier transport.
