I wrote “Heartbeats” after I had to leave my role as an elementary school principal due to health reasons. It is an educational memoir about the positive impact we can have on one another; how we can become someone else’s heartbeat.

Yes and yes! Whenever I speak, I try to remind people that the voice we hear most often…is our own. And we aren’t innately kind to ourselves.

So my challenge is to listen to my own words and encourage myself while staying accountable and driven. Tough road! Doable, but tough.

A3: I think with anything in life, the PD expansion or writing new ideas, it’s always the self-doubt. The fear of “no” gets in the way.

Human nature. Just have to do it!

Q1: I just completed my 1st children’s book with others on tap.

I’m planning multiple school visits to do PD around the sense of belonging in schools tied to my book “Heartbeats.”

And I have some trips to Akron for work with leaders in creating a restorative culture.
