Quite the contrast:

In one part of the Epstein files, DOJ published unredacted nude images of women and potentially minors.

In another part, officials redacted President Trump’s face from a news image that was shared in a text exchange.

I spoke with Annie Farmer, one of the Epstein survivors who has advocated for transparency. She was distressed by the failed redactions:

“It’s hard to imagine a more egregious way of not protecting victims than having full nude images of them available for the world to download”

The New York Times began notifying DOJ officials yesterday of unredacted images that reporters were encountering in the published Epstein files. DOJ has now largely removed or redacted the images from the government’s online library.

The records suggest that the island meeting with Lutnick and Epstein did occur. A day after it was supposed to happen, an Epstein assistant forwarded Lutnick a message from Epstein.

“Nice seeing you,” it said.

I reached Lutnick on his cell phone today. He said he could not comment because he had not seen the documents, claimed that he had “spent zero time with” Epstein, and then hung up.

But the new Epstein files show a series of subsequent interactions. That included this email from Lutnick about bringing his family and others to visit Epstein at his private island, Little St. James.

Last year, Lutnick said in an interview that he visited Epstein’s home around 2005 and was so troubled by what he saw that he decided never to associate with him again.

“So I was never in the room with him socially, for business, or even philanthropy.”

Among those who resigned was Joseph H. Thompson, who had been overseeing numerous prosecutions of fraud in Minnesota's social services system.
