ST needs a bit of a code rework to get going again, and I wanted to consider doing more complex shooting system. I have got the population updated for 2025 however.

Dreamland...is a forever project in itself. I think I've restarted it four times. My plan is probably to just release all the versions

There is a more traditional romcart available at backbit.io for loading homebrew rooms. Chris mostly keeps to Odyssey 2 / videopac. Another cool dude Arlasoft who is mostly C64 did a few games like wordl and centipede. I do some too, mostly arcade game conversions and games that fit the period

I think I fleshed out a concept of a golf game for the original Magnavox odyssey but it would require a customised game card, I think the system was originally intended to have a golf game and accessory during its exploration phase but was cut among most of the other features for cost

The other is a homebrew, but Chris Reed "atari2600land" made a golf game for the Fairchild Channel F a few years ago. This released on cartridge form with a few others as part of a homebrew collection.

A few years back I got into playing early golf games too, some extras on early consoles include the 1292 system game, where the perspective is behind the golfer, more like 90s style golf games. 1292 was largely European based but I think a US franchised system was found recently.

Access the subscriber features. It will mean whoever buys and hosts will get the full feature list, though I will probably lock player bonuses still to individual wargames subscriptions

Other #byond development news: trench wars, another tower defence game was also due an update which I've done but still need to upload. It was part of a wargames bundle and not free to play technically, but I might add the set onto itch but will need to recompile the games as people won't be able to
June 23, 2025 at 12:44 PM
I probably won't post it up until #BYOND is back up properly, but it's coming along nicely and possibly the first time I've included sfx and music right from the start 😂

I've also modified the block generation so that the more complex blocks are less likely to appear and give a more rounded experience.
June 23, 2025 at 12:31 PM
It can usually manage one line before messing up, so it's something to work on, but it's a starting point.

The other modes, including local multiplayer, single player (playing one block each side continually), and of course server multiplayer still works.

The new update is a bit of bug smashing, some of the usual modification for modern resolutions, I've added new rows (well, columns in this game) for a longer gameplay experience. I've also added vs Computer mode, so you can play single player Vs an opponent, but it's a bit thick at the moment.

Let me know if you do get a small group and a time set and I might be able to be a +1 if it fits with my work/sleep/code schedule 😂

Honestly would have loved to join but I suspect a) timezones and b) autistic burnout would probably get in the way, hope you find a group! (I'm more into cyberpunk than D&D, but Baldur's Gate has prepared me!)

Influence the shepherds movement by clicking on the map to change the environment. This can also be done before starting, so you can "influence" it in easy mode to win fairly easily.
June 8, 2025 at 9:56 AM
In addition, there is an "Easy" and "Medium" mode. The only difference is that the "home" win condition is revealed before starting in Easy, and only appears after starting in Medium.

Make a random map, set your difficulty and press start to set off the Shepherd.

It was designed as a type of game where you cannot directly influence the main actor but the surroundings which dictate where they went.

The concept was never fleshed out to the point of a game, so I've made the effort of having a game over and win condition, and easier ways of restarting the game.

I've already posted a few of these updates, namely Hostile Takeover, Law of the Board and Slide-o-snake. The smaller games such as minesweeper are being listed together. This now means from March to May I'm fully updated other than Wargames 2.

They BYOND games I still need to update this month includes my shooting game Exodus which is definitely not one of my best. Fools Gold also needs fixing and updating, but it's more of a tech demo in BYONDs early 4.0 days. Wargames 2 is also needing an update, but I want to flesh that out first.

The odyssey cannot handle three adjustable moving objects easily (the ball object technically counts, but not for this purpose), requiring the additional in person materials.

Puck man was made 5 years ago for the 40th anniversary of the legacy of Pac Man, and acts as a two to three player game which requires physical interaction. It is a bit of a parody in the the sense that the Pac man player is required to hold a printed yellow square up in front of the screen.
