Blissfully unaware of anything about the Tigers - Mariners series.
mikebradleymke.bsky.social
Ive watched significant amounts of the Blue Jays - Yankees, Phillies - Dodgers, and of course the Brewers - Cubs.

And I was sitting here, like, "this doesn't add up." There's got to be another series.

The New Berlin Public Library in Wisconsin just went viral for their hilarious marketing video 😂

He was central player in the trump social media warroom. I found this video about him and his famous X alias interesting, in particular the part where his anon account grew to 10s of thousands of followers with no original content production (clearly foreign supported).

"Antifa has been around in various iterations for almost 100 years in some instances, going back to the Weimar Republic in Germany."

The real risk is that you get an actual reichstag fire during the shutdown, the GOP spikes the filibuster, and they pass the enabling acts full cloth.

This red white & jersey song sounds suspiciously like if you asked AI to create a bon jovi song.
mikebradleymke.bsky.social
It's interesting how it's presented as "shutdown talks" when it's dems on the outside and "debt ceiling talks" when it's GOP.

USAID also used to buy a significant amount of soy beans to prop up domestic farmers and dump them on the rest of the world.

we charge our hyundai ioniq 5 around once every two to three weeks at a muncipal charger and i’d say it runs about $9 for 250 miles of range.

Yep. This guy had 2 new cars, 3 kids, a 1.3 million dollar house before the big checks started hitting.

I ate rice and beans and lived in series of dump apartments while grinding 60 hour weeks plus unoptimizeable commutes to clients in traffic blackhole cities. Wrong career choice. Lol.

The other thing is learned from him is that there's an entire alternative finance industry for doctors that allows MASSIVE income smoothing. That's the source of the most of the loans. They take full loans for school, then can buy houses, cars, and lifestyle balloon notes while residents/interns.

A friend's husband became a skin cancer surgeon and was like, "there's nothing to it. You use a laser gun and a TV screen and it's like duck hunt, except you're shooting cancer moles."

Then I googled what they get paid. Lol.
mikebradleymke.bsky.social
Pretty sure I could zap skin cancers off people with a laser for a lot less than 800K.

We should track down whoever did this and see if they have had any other vivid premonitions.

It's a frustrating feature of the human body that getting to and staying at a health/longevity maximizing weight involves a fair amount of daily hunger and discomfort.

I'm trying to drop 10 pounds by the holidays and it's legitimately crazy how much my body disagrees with that idea.

A key to having low taxes in Wisconsin is not just existing as a city before about 1970, then disallowing or saying no thank you to anything that was granted tax exemptions over the previous 60 years or so.

About 20% of milwaukee property is tax exempt. A big percentage!
mikebradleymke.bsky.social
There's a large office building in downtown Milwaukee that used to hold the old wisconsin bell HQ, now AT&T, that still pays no property taxes at all.

At&t pays a tax directly to the state covering all their building and infrastructure. Local gov totally cut out.

This happened about 100 years ago with telephone companies and the basic answer is that states preempted local governments.

The data center angst feels like a leading indicator of a broader economic development question about if the public will ever support high-value industrial activity that:
-uses a lot of power
-doesn’t create many jobs

Because that seems like the future of manufacturing.

Other things are pretty random. There's basically no correlation between sex trafficking/prostitution cases and the volume of the crime. The amount of couple dozen prostitution arrests per year is just a function of how much effort the PD wants to put into it.
mikebradleymke.bsky.social
Homicide data is rock solid. You can cross-check PD/FBI versus medical examiner/CDC and they run in tight concert. You also have good data on % of homicide cases closed, which gives you a pretty good look at PD performance.

Yep. And .22s are much less fatal than .45s and 9mms, too. The fatality/non-fatality rate has increased significantly in the last 30 years as all guns have gotten more powerful.

A lot of these crimes end up being pretty frustrating for everyone. A small group of people breaking into cars can cause an enormous amount of property damage & inconvenience, and even if caught, it can end up being a relatively light vandalism misdemeanor if they are found with no stolen property.
