A good example of mixing up accelerating and decelerating effects might be Kayo forcing to you to guess whether he'll end with Send Packing or Reckless Stampede. Feels bad when you hold blocks and take damage from Wild Ride then get Stampeded :(

I feel like Cindra often presents the mixup of having to guess whether their chain-ender will be Lava Burst or Snatch when deciding how to block Mask. I'd say either way, drawing cards is acceleration.

I think those axes are a good description of FaB gameplay, but part of what makes the game interesting are the ways heroes can pivot between plans through sideboard/deckbuilding or even mid-game.

Just went 30-0 against an Enigma after playing Null Time turn 0. Also been able to T-Bone nearly every Flexors I've seen. Not feeling quite so grim about DIO anymore!

I think the idea isn't so much that Manchin is good, he's just way better than any Senator that can reasonably expect to get elected in West Virginia any time soon. Gallego and Kelly are proof that we can do better than Sinema in AZ though.
