I do that on small trips, with the Brompton. I can't imagine it on big trips with the Bullitt though.

the fender-less one doesn't have those issues ;-) but yes I prefer the bike for that type of trip, as much as our local grocery tries to dissuade me with the shitty placement of their bike rack.
