I know, it's the Internet and we have to exaggerate, but I've seen this shared a few dozen times and I take offense at the use of "ruined." If JAWS or Beverly Hills Cop having "bad" sequels "ruins" the original for you, then you are unspeakably washed

Would DJ Ol’ Youngin’ go too

I think a lot about the kid absolutely freakin’ it to “Superstition” and the girl who improvs so much melody over the riffs to “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard” that Paul Simon looks like he’s going to explode if he can’t get to his vocal cue

(With massive unearned confidence) Crazy to do this while Jeese is playing on the Bluetooth

Looks like it, per the P-lines!

hoooo hoooo hoooo - Copper Blue one of my top 5 albums of the decade. All in all in
mikeduquette.bsky.social
The four singles from Copper Blue are getting collected into a 12" box for Record Store Day, and were just released as digital EPs last week (theseconddisc.com/2025/10/04/t...); their discography also moved from Merge to BMG (where Bob has a deal now). But if this is shows? See you fuckin' there

(My tastes aren't terribly indie *now*, other than making myself laugh for one minute earlier about what if I started pronouncing it "Jeese" to see if anyone was paying attention)

I subscribed to Spotify in 2011; my tastes weren't very indie then, so I doubt "nobody" was on there. I started working with Sony a year later, and they were absolutely a partner during my entire tenure. I don't know what 1989 and Reputation have to do with this discussion of two different albums.
Screenshot of my Spotify subscription purchase in 2011. I don't know if I didn't redact anything I should but if there are card numbers in there, they're long expired

And remember Adele took streaming out of the equation

This was a little freak on TV. His jaw opened all the way up. I don’t respect him

Let me amend before my eyes dilate for the day that I feel this way about all fandom. Give me a teaser image and an announcement date and a trailer and that’s all I need

This sort of activity has been my least favorite thing about music fandom since my cousin went to Graceland and saw someone staring at a rhinestone cape muttering “I wonder if anything is written in Braille”

When I logged off X, I thought I was calling time on being algorithmically fed strangers conspiracy posting about pop albums. Not so, says Facebook! There’s a hidden track under the LP label, I just know it! I hope it’s “Yvan eht Nioj”! I am going to call the authorities

Heavy reminder of things this morning: put on a raincoat to go to the doctor, and in the pocket was the badge we used to access the hospital when my youngest was in the NICU nearly 20 months ago. How far we’ve come, how far to go still

it was used in bumpers for WCBS-FM 101.1, a station that, at the time, would've died before it played anything from that decade

At its peak, it shared a chart quadrant with Pink Floyd, Ray Parker Jr. and TWO singles from Xanadu
