Typical of the stove industry's selfish attitude. Power outages are the worst time to burn wood as neighbours are unable to use their air purifiers. It costs us £££ to buy & run all the air purifiers, dehumidifiers, tumble dryers, etc we need when neighbours burn wood. Clean air poverty exists too!

How much influence did Robert Jenrick have on the aggressive stove industry lobbying that has devastated the health & lives of many people in SCAs after many decades of smoke free living? His father’s company has made huge profits from assaulting neighbours with toxic fumes from “Ecodesign” stoves.

“Just move” is one of the standard responses from a person that burns wood.
Wood smoke is not a private choice. It harms neighbours, and drives up public health costs. Telling people to “just move” ignores reality. Everyone deserves clean air where they live.

Fact-Check: Personal Choice vs Community Impact

Myth 1: If you don’t like the smoke, just move. Fact: Moving isn’t realistic. Homes are expensive, bound by rent, people need to stay near jobs, schools, friends and family. Even if you did move, a new neighbour could install a stove. Wood smoke spreads across whole neighbourhoods, so there’s no escape.

Bottom line: Wood smoke is not a private choice. It spreads beyond chimneys, harms neighbours, and drives up public health costs. Telling people to “just move” ignores reality. Everyone deserves clean air where they live.

I know more will have been involved but when folk have fuel poverty, food poverty, couldn’t the money have been better spent elsewhere???

Today was the first day of the season that I encountered wood smoke while out walking.

I didn't see it, but I could smell it, and when I looked over at a nearby chimney I saw the "heat shimmering" and knew immediately that it was the source.

Sigh... here we go again 😷

Is the minimum time limit on sectors or mini sectors? I can see that if it's over sectors, it would still be possible to driver faster into the pitlane, if you had been really slow at the start of the sector.

Does feel like the regulations need to be changed slightly.

People are living longer, and this is something to be celebrated! But research shows that #AirPollution increases the likelihood of people becoming frail in middle and old age. Thanks for raising awareness of wood burning harms @johnwhitbymp.bsky.social PM2.5 & BaP emissions from deadly "modern" stoves have devastated the health of neighbours in areas where we were previously protected by the Clean Air Act.A tiny numer of people (<1m) causing> PM2.5 than ALL power stations
