The UK's air quality index is widely considered out-dated and not fit for purpose.

For different reasons, India's index is also being criticised.

They both products of the past information age and the science that we knew nearly 20 years ago.

Most people don’t realise how much air pollution harms our health. The RCP says many are unaware of links to heart disease, stroke & dementia. We need clear public info and stronger action to cut emissions. Clean air is basic public health.
