A Florida Man in Cleveland. I like riding my bike, playing with my kids, and science (occasionally).
1. Tumor immunology
2. Bioinformatics
3. Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy
4. Evolutionary biology
5. Oceanography

The first two in particular paid off big time for my specific career path.

Sadly the Browns stink, but Myles is objectively amazing. He can’t play their positions for them, so why would that count against him?

If you like horror, I’d highly recommend Between Two Fires by Chris Buehlman. Probably one of my favorites books I’ve read in the last couple of years.

Can’t we say abolish ICE and also that ICE is not literally the 1:1 equivalent of the Gestapo at the same time? Again, they’re awful. This is still crazy hyperbolic though.

4/ Unfortunately, it’s becoming harder to find bioinformaticians who can double-check results, question their data,

and say, “Wait, does this make sense biologically?” instead of rushing to fit the latest deep model.

2% of ICE recruits were placed on extended medical leave after catastrophically zippering up their dick and balls.

Bad take, AI as a product in the now and immediate future is deeply unprofitable. Couple that with being a subpar deliverable, at best, with any meaningful task, it's either cooked or will have to turn a corner shortly.
