He finally got Dolan out the door. That shows sufficient political aptitude to me. Finishing off Opus Dei and shutting up its enablers in DC would be a good next move.

Starmer just doesn’t seem to have developed his own political acumen, beyond sticking close to Blairites who are still shell shocked over Corbyn being party leader for 4 years.

The GOP looks a lot like the mess of anti-war/soft socialist/old city machines/Dixiecrat/union bosses who hated Carte, Mondale and McGovern. All of these wealthy wing nuts sucking up to Trump have deluded themselves that they are ones in charge.There will be carnage after the blue wave in ‘26.

Agreed. He also did a phenomenal guest spot as a mediocre QB in the WFL who gets Rockford in trouble with the feds and the mob in one of my favorite Rockford Files episodes ever.

That observation isn’t uncommon. I agree with @anamariecox.bsky.social, but I do know people who don’t grasp the importance of the sparseness in the storytelling.

I’ve been avoiding reading about this shit, mainly because I’ve seen too many Lizzi-Nuzzi relationships in my career; however, the gravitational pull is becoming irresistible. The only thing holding me back is the embarrassing prose I waded through in one of the brief excerpts from her “memoir.”

Lou Whitaker was better and can’t get so much as a sniff. Same goes for Steve Garvey. Rightly or not, being an unpopular asshole in every clubhouse you were in should count for something.
However, Kent was a damn good ballplayer…as was Munson, Mattingly, Schilling, Al Oliver, etc.
