#Iris laevigata is such a pretty species. Mt. Pleasant Iris Farm has this growing by their pond and I always enjoy seeing it in bloom. Wonderful color and it really pops with the green around it. 🌱

I believe this is a Siberian species #iris, or a very early hybrid of it. I. sanguinea grows across eastern Asia. Named for its bright red-violet spathes that contrast so nicely with the blue-violet flowers. 🌱

Today's featured variety is the first Siberian #iris to win the top award in irisdom. 'Swans In Flight' was awarded the Dyke's Memorial Medal in 2016. 🌱
