Oh, I know they're on there, but I'm pretty sure that Eaglemoss added the stripes! As far as I could see the banners weren't on the onscreen versions.

Speaking of the ships from Discovery, is the Athena the first 32nd century ship we've seen with an old-school big red stripe on it?

I think it's actually TRAPPIST-1E. Which is the TRAPPIST-1 exoplanet we think is the best candidate for life. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRAPPIS...

I choose to believe the Ressikan Flute being on there means that JLP was able to successfully ensure that their culture was properly remembered by others.

Most of them are from either the TNG Technical Manual or the Captain's Chair CD which had all the bridges. The extra Voyager sets were from a feature on startrek.com that I pulled from the internet archive. The Kelvin and Discovery panoramas were also from features on that site.

Depends, are the sideburns detachable?

Honestly, my favourite bit is where they apparently will need to nefariously scheme to get a financial collapse to happen in the years following the death of most of humanity.

I should note, there's some distortion towards the top and bottom in these that wasn't present in the original CDs, since the images are cylindrical projection and I'm showing equirectangular. I planned to adapt the code to properly support cylindrical at some point but still hadn't gotten to it.

The ones not from either the Tech Manual or Captain's Chair are the extra Voyager interiors, the Kelvin interiors, and Discovery interiors. They all came from features on startrek.com through the years.

GitHub link at the top right of the page. The Voyager and Discovery ones came from features on startrek.com at their respective times.

Sonic shower, I assume. Toilet is just above it.

Well the advantage is that deuterium is a fantastic fusion fuel too, so it lets them run the warp and impulse off the same tank.
December 21, 2025 at 6:10 PM
Was that kind of harvesting intended to be a kind of common way of getting it? I think it's always just been assumed that for mass production it's manufactured from regular deuterium in-system with swarms of near-solar satellites (the usual sci-fi staple, and the old TNG tech manual mentioned that)

"So for the next comic run, we do a set of issues with this really unique twist. Instead of all the art, we cover the pages, get this, entirely with text, 100% text. Guaranteed winner."

The secret hidden buttons! Oh I miss the secret hidden button era of remotes.
December 16, 2025 at 11:35 AM
There is a button on my parents remote that is just labelled 'football'. Not even a branded button. I pushed it once and the TV had an error. We live in Australia, half the country cares about different foot balls than the other half so I've no idea what it was even meant to do.

(If you're wanting to try something and not just (very validly) venting: does it mess it up both when you export straight to PDF and when you Print to a PDF?)
December 11, 2025 at 9:49 AM
Okay something is going very wrong if your output is changing when you export to PDF, that's *really* not meant to happen.

She seems quite taken aback by her change in circumstances.

Some giants stole me and now everything is impossibly better?

There's advantages to exploiting the natural connections the brain has between the visual and language centres for efficient information processing.
December 10, 2025 at 3:17 PM
That's... okay, yeah, that's a fair point.
