Like, how do you come up with the initial concepts? I lack a conceptual process, very hard for me not to go with the very first thing I come up with-

Nowadays it's the unbreakable spirit. The way my peers make art regardless of circumstances.
The world may be burning and we may be doomed as a species sooner than we thought. In the face of disaster, disability, and dismay, we still MAKE. ART. And nothing makes us more human. I love it shamelessly.

Lastly, a psychologist i went to when I was a small child (divorce therapy) confronted me once. I drew a dog and he drew a better one. Then I tried to draw a better one and he drew an even better one. It pissed me off so much I got better at it out of sheer burning baby spite.

I remember one in particular (i must've been 5 at most) I drew a house with wonky little individual roof shingles. I got so much praise and disbelief for it. That moment fueled me, seen as I still remember it so vividly.

Anecdote aside, I grew up with a lot of artistic support. Multiple artists in the family who pushed me to try my best at it.

My stepdad would draw farm landscapes for me to color. One dat he didnt feel up for it and just told me to draw it myself... and I started trying.
