I'm voting YES on 50.

You should, too.

Here's why.

Leading economists say the U.S. saw “essentially no job growth” last month.

Small businesses are getting crushed by Trump’s tariffs and immigration chaos while health care carries the economy.

The shutdown means no official jobs data—just more chaos and uncertainty.

During this shutdown, it’s important to remember: Republicans looted the store and left the “open” sign on. Democrats are the ones restocking the shelves and keeping it running for the people who built it.

Electric bills are rising twice as fast as inflation. The grid is aging, extreme weather keeps breaking it, and rebuilding safely costs more. These are the hidden costs of climate change. The answer is not denial. It is investing in a stronger, cleaner, more resilient grid.
'A cost of climate change': Why the price of electricity is outpacing inflation
NPR's Steve Inskeep asks Robinson Meyer of the climate and energy site Heatmap News why electricity bills are rising faster than inflation.

Ninety-four million pounds of food — chicken, milk, cheese, eggs — never reached families in need because of Trump’s cuts.

At a time of record hunger, this is cruelty masquerading as policy.

What happened to government efficiency, compassion, or basic competence?
Trump Canceled 94 Million Pounds of Food Aid. Here’s What Never Arrived.
ProPublica obtained records from the Department of Agriculture that detail the millions of pounds of food, down to the number of eggs, that never reached food banks because of the administration’s cut...

Budget Director Russ Vought first wanted to fire thousands of federal workers during the shutdown, now he wants to prevent those furloughed from getting back pay.

He is completely out of control, and this is all totally illegal.

We will not be intimidated by his threats.
Scoop: White House memo says furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to backpay
A move to deny backpay to up to 750,000 furloughed workers would dramatically escalate Trump's pressure on Democrats to end the shutdown.

The shutdown isn’t complicated.

Democrats are fighting to stop health care cuts and protect affordable care for millions of Americans.

We’re not backing down from that fight.

Republicans have the power to negotiate, protect healthcare for American citizens, and reopen the govt.

They refuse.

And we won't stop until affordable coverage is protected.

78% of Americans (including 59% of Republicans) want ACA tax credits extended. If they aren’t:

• Millions lose insurance
• Premiums double,
• ERs get swamped
• EVERYONE pays more.

Protecting health care for millions of Americans is worth the fight!

Let me get this straight: The House hasn’t voted in weeks, the govt is shut down, the new Democratic member hasn’t even been sworn in, we’re one signature from forcing release of the Epstein Files, and Mike Johnson (the weakest Speaker ever) wants us home so his party won’t implode.

This shutdown happened because Johnson, Thune & Trump refused to come to the table. One party controls the House, Senate & White House. They have the power to keep government open.

If they refuse to negotiate on health care, that’s on them.

Plain and simple.

Average ACA premiums are about to skyrocket from $888 to $1,904 a month if Republicans get their way.

A 60-year-old couple making $85,000 would be forced to pay $22,600 MORE a year.

Millions will be priced out of care.

Friends, this is WORTH THE FIGHT.

There’s so much happening in the news, but I can’t ignore President Trump’s recent remarks to our military leaders.

His speech was filled with falsehoods and carried a deeply troubling message about the role of our armed forces in our democracy. 👇🧵

And as for Pete Hegseth—the television pundit pretending to be Patton—he’s the opposite of what our men and women in uniform need.

They need their lives in the hands of serious leadership, not cable talk bravado dressed up as wisdom.
