A very old memory just bubbled to the surface.
In Shibumi by Trevanian is this sentence: "Starr interposed, 'Not with nookie at a hundred K a throw!'"
I was reading it in Spanish. The translator made a reasonable stab at an unknown word. He translated "nookie" as "escondrijo" (hiding place).
