First day hike at Cedar Hill State Park. A family favorite, with trails through the grasslands and up the hills into woods overlooking the lake. It's a beautiful day for it.

Every now and again in the midst of making too many cookies (because I didn't plan well) I get an idea and feel compelled to follow through. So, toffee apple oatmeal cookie. Just the recipe from the Quaker box top, - 1c raisin, +1c chopped Heath, +1c dried apple.

Third cookie today and first new one, it's Sohla's add anything drop cookie with dried cherries, hazelnuts, and fall chocolate.

There's a fast food place I go and while it's not amazing, the burger always comes hot, with cold fixings, and a warm bun that's been crisped lightly. And their sides are a little under seasoned, but always crispy and quite hot. That's like 90% of getting it right.

In the middle of making our family chex mix recipe this morning. A holiday tradition, the recipe comes from an old family friend. There's a lot of room to play around with the recipe so it's never quite the same, but it's always good.

Kid's school program tonight. Changed twice now, as of last night they needed Santa hats. The take home letter said those were for another program next week. Today I learned at 3:30 that my kid needed to be there at 5:30 not 6:40. These changes are two different teachers, but are driving me nuts.

I love it when you find a restaurant where it feels like they are on my wavelength. Just a bunch of little things done the way I want and the whole menu appeals. This place has one burger and in my estimation it's perfect

I love the city Christmas parade. All manner of civic organizations, from the city council and library and fire fighters all the way down to some relatively small Cub scout packs and a few cyclists and everything in between. Just sort of a chilly happy celebration with your neighbors.

Somehow have gotten into a situation with my old cat where, due to her allergies/pickiness, I go to different pet stores for wet food, dry food, and litter. Could technically do dry food and litter at the same time, but that's the furthest store and they don't get bought with the same frequency.
