4/ Renee Good and Alex Pretti smeared as domestic terrorists? A function of the counter-insurgency techniques and mentality from abroad being used at home.

They also, sadly, join a long line of law abiding citizens murdered by police or vigilantes for daring to stand up for justice.

3/ DEI attacks? These don’t just have rhetorical appeal—they have instrumental value as a cover for the wholesale purge of the leaders in the military, federal law enforcement, federal government, and civil society institutions that the regime believes most likely to stand up to it.

2/ FBI and DOJ purges? Anyone who prosecuted Trump is presumed just as corrupt as we’d see anyone who let Eric Adams off the hook.

Attacks on elected Dems? Those Dems aren’t seen as legit public servants; their victories were invalid because they were elected by people who aren’t white Christians.

The Neo-Confederate States are the “laboratories of autocracy” that set the stage for the Trump regime.

As this chart shows, most of his authoritarian, Christian nationalist actions had precedent in Neo-Confederate legislatures, having either been enabled or facilitated by the Roberts Court.
