Republican have had a decade and a half to come up with something. Nothing they have proposed is viable. Democrats are not in power. Not sure why I should hope for meaningful reform next year.

Republicans should be blamed for this as much as Trump. They should own this as much as Trump. They are complicit. We give them a pass when we say they are just cowards. It is more sinister than that IMO.

I really wish we could get the true story about these people. Too many people on that boat to believe it was smuggling drugs. Probably trafficking people. If that came out as true, would Tom Cotton still have the nerve to call it "righteous"?

I feel like the last chart regarding the Tesla 3 undercuts the premise a little bit. Yes the heat pump version has more range, but it is approximately 3% of the baseline range. For a 300 mile range EV, that's only an extra 9 miles. Compared to base loss of 30% (90 miles), that's modest improvement.

You miss my point. I agree the economy was recovering under Biden and is turning under Trump. But regardless, the public started souring on the labor market beginning in 2022. Something else is going on that may not be correlated with the headline employment numbers.

Admittedly, a lot of the recent decline occurred during the Biden administration. But Trump is just making it worse. There seems to be a fundamental problem with the job market, not related to the overall economy (which was trending up later in Biden's term and is trending down now).

So, at the end of the 9yr "lease", would you own the car? The battery? If yes to both, then only the range is a real disappointment. The total price is fine, and basically partially financed for free.
