A judge has rescinded his order that ICE provide toothbrushes to migrants detained at 26 Federal Plaza, Manhattan after DOJ said they "can be readily improvised as weapons."

Meanwhile, at the federal jail in Brooklyn, inmates can buy toothbrushes at the commissary for 85 cents.

Social media algorithms are drowning breaking news and important public safety alerts in anachronic nonsense. Why show something that's happening *now* when you can induce panic with a 14-hour old alert? Do that enough and the audience becomes numb to everything — at its peril.

The City of New York is absolutely abusing the FOIL process. One of these requests is from 2020. The city has repeatedly delayed its response and has now set a deadline of March 2026, which is sure to be delayed again. Unacceptable.

We finally have copies of the jury’s notes to the judge during deliberations in Sean "Diddy" Combs' criminal trial. These were read in court at the time but only now appeared on the docket.

Among them: the jury saying it couldn't reach a verdict on RICO, then... saying it had.

Today, prosecutors sought to force a news outlet to delete a post revealing name of a Diddy witness who testified under pseudonym. US has asked media to respect anonymity (and many outlets do) but judge rightly noted that nothing bars them from figuring out real name on own.
