I pronounced it like myopic in my head because I always encountered it in print and didn’t really think about it or say it out loud. Then I said it out loud and my wife made fun of me. Now I‘m back to my previous policy of not saying it out loud.

I love NYC and its mayoral race is worthy of national attention, but not as much as it gets. Pundits always talk as if the NYC mayor is a path to national office, but they all end up being crackpot punchlines like mayors in most cities.
