Great tunes, great lyrics, great vocal harmonies. We saw The Secret Sisters at Bury Met. They were fabulous live.

Not as good as The Beatles Red and Blue compilation albums, but a great showcase for The Rolling Stones evolution into 'The greatest Rock'n'Roll band in the world '

My niece is seeing Gillian Welch in Kingston, NY, tonight. I really hope she announces UK tour dates in 2025.

One of my favourite Reggae albums. Sonny's Lettah moves me to tears of rage and shame every time I hear it.
Check it out if you want to hear how inhuman SUS laws were (and are)

It's 12 months ago today since Shane MacGowan passed away. A fantastic songwriter and a great performer. RIP brother Shane.

Universally regarded as Led Zeppelin's weakest album. It's sad that they bowed out with this.
On a positive note, I saw them play Hot Dog and In the evening at Knebworth. The sound that Page gets as he bridges into the solo is awesome! I wish I knew how he did it

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band were one of my favourites from seeing them playing Next on the Old Grey Whistle Test. Alex Harvey is the best artist to come out of Scotland, imho. I see that I paid 25p for this album in the sale at Blackshaws, Barrow in Furness. Remember Robert?

The Pogues' second album. I can never decide whether I prefer this one or their debut Red Roses for me. I love the chaotic sound of the first album, but Shane Mcgowan's songwriting had really matured on this one. Their version of The band played Waltzing Matilda is truly haunting

Many years ago, I remember a girl in Austin Tx telling me that she thought that Leon Russell had spoiled Willie's picnic that year by playing too long and only leaving Willie 20 minutes at the end. After hearing this album, I like to think that was Willie's choice.

The late, great Alan Hull. He was a founder member of Lindisfarne, whom I am a big fan of. This is his first solo album, and it is full of great songs. He was only 50 when he died. RIP Alan
