There’s a lot more I’m proud of, but I’ll just say this: WBBM’s digital team didn’t deserve to go out like this. The team did good work despite corporate leaders who, IMO, clearly don’t never understood digital media.

We did some really cool coverage of the James Beard Awards, which culminated in an awesome opportunity to get on the red carpet, where I shot this video of Beard nominees/hosts shouting out their favorite Chicago restaurants.

I left WBBM at the end of the year. Can’t say I saw this coming, but after layoffs hit newsroom last April, the short version is I just didn’t see enough reasons to stay. That said I am so fucking proud of the work that our small, scrappy team pushed out ⤵️
