I’ve seen most of the original series and a handful of Rifftrax. It’s great and I’m sure the new episodes will be great. The younger crew just aligns more with my sense of humor, probably in part because they’re closer to me in age. A personal preference, really.

More MST3K can’t be bad, but it seems like the Jonah/Emily/Baron/Hampton team won’t be back in the driver’s seat anytime soon and that makes me (a little) sad.

I’m really glad you said that. I agree. I know I’m in the minority, but I found and fell in love with MST3K on Netflix. I watched and rewatched the Jonah seasons more times than I can count. That’s my MST3K; it’s the version I connect with more than any other.

Atrocity dick-measuring contests seem to be popular with people who want to ignore creeping fascism. If a situation has to be as bad as the Holocaust before we consider it a problem, then we’ve actually learned nothing.

Now maybe you are a literal cartoon bureaucrat who thinks these are high crimes and justify any manner of harsh treatment. Tearing families apart, abducting children, killing. But most of us just aren’t that fucking cruel.

You say “broke the law” and expect us to imagine thieves and murders, but that’s just not the case. The act of “breaking the law” for the people being targeted amounts to lack proper inclusion in government bureaucracy. The equivalent of misfiled paperwork.
