I don't say this lightly to a US Governor, but it is easy to joke about kneepads with basically an entire planet between you and Russia.

It's not weird or surprising that Trump does it, but that others get dragged along. There checks and balances; why they are not used? That's the baffling part.

Probably not resolving the war, but resolving American conviction towards what they consider a fair peace. This then would leave Ukraine and Europeans in a position of long-term strength.
