Researchers from ETH Zurich have succeeded in introducing large quantities of unnatural #AminoAcids into #Bacteria, enabling the creation of innovative and highly efficient designer proteins. These can be used as more efficient catalysts or more effective #Drugs.

Also got a chance to present our recent #EPR research at the 'Future of Biomedicine' conference 🤔. It was a fantastic gathering of Russia's top biological community at the impressive FEFU campus on Russky Island. It even has waterfalls! 😎

Had a great trip to Vladivostok, one of the eastern cities of Russia.
Open sea, magnificent views, very great weather... which results in too, too many photos 🫠

In our study @elife.bsky.social we uncover the mechanism of mPPase inhibition. Over 20x structures to date are in a symmetric form. We use EPR(PELDOR/DEER) and reveal asymmetric binding at the active site while maintaining symmetric conformation at periplasmic site

Our institute is located in Novosibirsk, which, as you might guess, is quite cold! In here, snow in May is quite a common occurrence

As a (currently) only member of our group, I will take this as an opportunity to showcase some of our recent works about #EPR applied to complex structural #biology problems!
