Amidst the recent maelstrom of anti-nature rhetoric, great to see that decision-makers at Colchester City Council have kept an evidence-based and community-focused approach and toxic green vs growth arguments have not prevailed. Now time to work for nature recovery.

Great news: Cycling in London is gaining momentum.

Every day, 1.33 million journeys are made by bike in the capital—that’s an increase of 26% since 2019.

I’ll keep working hard with boroughs to make our streets even safer, encouraging more Londoners to travel on two wheels.

Hooray for Essex Wildlife Trust who have become custodians of a truly special place – Ronnie Blythe's old home, Bottengoms. It was poignant but also joyous to visit it again – without Ronnie – and write this story. PS hugely recommend Ian Collins's brilliant biog. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
