I love travel, food, good story-telling, and empathy. I also have a huge man-crush on the rule of law.
I run a company that does business phone, video conferencing, and contact centers especially for local governments. www.vertical.com
@bretdevereaux.bsky.social, last night I started thinking about how some of my favorite fantasy books make no sense from a good production and surplus standard. This is YOUR fault!

Random hip pain is making this a terrible night. RICE and pain meds are making it better, but I can't sleep. I don't need yet another medical issue.

Excellent post - and this is how I begin every discussion with a potential Lost Causer, because once you separate their Southern culture (family ties, geographic roots, etc) from the argument, you can actually have a discussion without the “I have to defend the South” walls coming up.

I have just gone fully a tive on the transplant list. Now the waiting begins. I mean this stage of waiting. Unlike the previous waiting. This is new waiting.

I have just been reminded by TWO staffers that I gave the company Veterans' Day as a holiday this year (along with MLK, and Juneteenth). I completely forgot.

This may be the most predictable story ever. Why do people keep contracting for him?

Trump stiffs East Wing demolition crew
ACECO Demolition, the company that took a wrecking ball to the White House East Wing, to make space for the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Ballroom, found that Trump still doesn't pay his contractors.

Have R senators? (Like me?) Call Schumer’s office to tell him you will never donate to another D senate campaign again as long as he’s Senate leader. Tell him this deal is a shameful joke and a betrayal.

(202) 224-6542
I just did this and if nothing else it was cathartic. I said I would make it my life’s mission to make sure there’s a primary challenger for any D involved in this deal, it’s fucking embarrassing.
So, listen, call Schumer’s office no matter where you live, no matter if you’re registered to vote. Leave a voicemail that says if Senate Dems cave without an ACA premiums fix, you will never vote for or donate to another Senate Democrat as long as he is Leader

Sandwich guy is innocent! I guess all the expert testimony on this site helped set him free.

Federal footlong: man who threw sandwich at cop found not guilty of assault
A viral video of the incident proved the sandwich's trajectory, but also its triviality. A wasteful and pointless prosecution ends in failure.

Installed two new eero Wireless Access Points today. Really easy to do, all of my wireless devices flipped over, and I got a serious speed bump. Good stuff!

I'm wondering if Trump has a secret Brewster's Millions type bet going on. If he can completely destroy the US Government he gets a much bigger government? The Nobel Peace Prize? Putin patting him on the head?

I was just approved for the Transplant list to replace my non-functional kidneys.
Rarely have I been more emotionally overwhelmed in life. This is so huge!

Elk rut season has begun. Instead of dealing with all the social media madness yesterday, we went up to RMNP and encountered the elk instead. Much better experience.

I deplore all violence, but today let's not forget the other shooting which was in a school (again) and involved kids.
Students were eating lunch when they heard the gunshots. It’s yet another horrific school shooting, and every time my heart breaks for the kids, parents, and communities shattered by gun violence.

We can’t stop demanding change. Congress can and must pass gun safety legislation.

I got a agree with Lacy Baugher here. The latest Strange New Worlds episode makes me want a prequel series about the Scavengers. Really deep backstory for a single episode villain.
