Cunning little creatures, Acherontia truly are.
It is well-known they mimic the queen bee’s pheromones, also wing vibrations by squeaking. What is lesser known however, is that the thorax is supposed to visually resemble a bee! Took me a while, but best represented by this A. lachesis I collected.
