Loved this story and you might, too.

Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 18167:
There is no "typical reader," just as there is no "typical writer." Your first responsibility is to yourself; to create the most honest, well-written, carefully-researched story you can. Finding readers comes later.

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 4783: Place affects every aspect of a story. It shapes your characters, their relationships, their habits, their clothing, their culture, their food. Try thinking of place as a character, and count all the ways you can make your human characters interact with it.

Out of office didn’t trigger because of update.

New star lecturer has no access to IT and can’t see any materials.

Staff rescheduled faithful non-star lecturer to a new slot without asking so I have to teach his first class.

Charming MA student lost funding.

TEA!!! MORE TEA!!

Now plugged into Swiftie news, I discover Travis Kelce’s fiancée is subject of a credible death threat and her team are on high security alert. He’s not a good compartamentaliser, as we have previously seen. He plays with all his emotions affecting him. #chiefskingdom

Andy Reid jokingly downplayed a heated sideline exchange between him and TE Travis Kelce during the Chiefs' Week 3 win over the Giants.

“Listen, he’s an emotional guy," Reid quipped.

Do one thing today to help. One thing tomorrow. One thing the day after. Taking a swing at every bad thing happening is just going to burn you out. Remember, if everyone does their one thing the world changes
