Carney was part of the Harper govt. He respects & is friends w/Harper. His consolidation of power in his office, enough to overrule objections and push through his projects on the say so of the PMO alone, is pure Harper operating procedure.
Carney is NOT a progressive in any way shape or form.

Damn YES!!
I voted Liberal and got Stephen Harper Conservatism.
January 7, 2026 at 8:40 PM
A tax break that maxes out at $35/month at the highest level, while you and your government do NOTHING!!!! to help struggling Canadians. You travel the world playing hero while people in THE COUNTRY YOU GOVERN can't afford rent & groceries.
I have been a lifelong Liberal, NEVER AGAIN.
January 7, 2026 at 8:39 PM
Only the wealthy can afford to THANKS TO YOU. Ive been a lifelong Liberal and I wish I still could be, except we now have TWO Conservative parties.
January 3, 2026 at 1:25 AM
"Finally wake up"?? You dont read, do you. I'm not heading to the Trump/Conservatives. If you'd read any history, you'd know that destroying the middle class and ignoring the lower class ALWAYS ends BADLY. Corporations don't need the help Pollievre would SHOVEL at them.
January 3, 2026 at 1:23 AM
I never said they couldn't do their jobs. Geez - read already. The gig economy is largely off book. Carney will find every way he can tax it, thats why he wants to examine the income of the poor.
Can you be this upset about corporations getting billion dollar hand outs???
January 2, 2026 at 10:43 PM
He sounds like a Republican because he is one. The amazing middle class tax break maxes out at $420/year, less if you're lower income. Best case scenario is $35/month. But yeah, please, keep handing out huge corporate subsidies.
By the way- I've voted Liberal my whole adult life.
NEVER AGAIN.
January 2, 2026 at 10:40 PM
Working on the books, including safety nets, without the gig economy = homelessness for some people. For a lot of people.
And
January 2, 2026 at 5:10 AM
Automatic income tax filing is to keep lower income Canadians from working for cash in the gig economy. It will make things HARDER, not better.
And that middle income tax break literally maxes out $420. That's a whopping extra $30 per month.
Wow!! What a lifesaver.
December 31, 2025 at 3:52 AM
Canada is unaffordable for Canadians.
That's on your (Liberal)CONSERVATIVE govt.
All your big projects do nothing to help struggling Canadians.
December 30, 2025 at 12:55 AM
So our federal govt can't walk and chew gum??
Finding trading partners is all they can handle? They can't find trading partners AND help struggling Canadians? Trump is an economic threat, but shirt of him declaring war, our sovereignty is safe.
Protect businesses/ignore Canadians = Conservatives
December 30, 2025 at 12:52 AM
And ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for struggling Canadians.

Canada now has only the far-right (Pollievre) and the Stephen-Harper-right (Carney). Two parties concerned with giving big business whatever they want, and NO ONE concerned about struggling Canadians.

My vote was a mistake.
December 29, 2025 at 9:14 PM
Have you noticed that Pollievre has called Carney's bluff and is going to force a vote on this? A vote in Parliament isn't 'keeping a toddler quiet'. Carney is a Harper Conservative. He wants this pipeline.
December 8, 2025 at 12:47 AM
So only the poor need to be watched to make sure the pay every red cent. The wealthy on the other hand get away with murder.
Carney needs to stop hiding behind his "Liberal" costume. He's a Harper Conservative who could give a shit about low income people.
December 5, 2025 at 3:39 AM
I thought we elected a Liberal government. What we have is Harper conservatism. BC was not consulted, and no one in BC should ever vote 'Liberal' again.
Canada now a far-right and centre-right party, but no centre-left party.
Mr. Carney will help Big Oil but not struggling Canadians. Got it.
November 28, 2025 at 12:44 AM
So NO help for struggling Canadians, but LOTS of help for oil companies.
How did the Liberal Party of Canada choose a Stephen Harper Conservative to run the party and the nation?
We're now stuck with the right and the far-right with NO CENTRE-LEFT OPTION TO VOTE FOR.
November 27, 2025 at 11:15 PM
Good. Really.
Now help Canadians.
It has become unmanageable to live in this country. Affordability means Canadians have more money to put INTO the economy. Could we get someone in Ottawa to think about that? Maybe try to help?

Do you feel in danger, Diana. I'm in 🇨🇦 on the west coast and I don't know how anyone in the US feels safe right now.
August 11, 2025 at 10:57 PM
I wonder what the world would like if people who invest do much energy in deciding who's in and who's out invested yhst energy in feeding the hungry and caring for the poor.

They're salivating for a 'ltriumphant return' & the destruction of their enemies. My heart is breaking, longing for a mother hen to gather us under her wings, the big, whole us.

I was raised in a church like this, and you are 100% right.
😢
June 22, 2025 at 2:09 AM
Please don't be sorry. I/we need to hear the truth. I'm just worried ... for all of you, and all of us, the big whole us.
June 22, 2025 at 2:08 AM
Ok, so I won't sleep tonight. There are so many people (like you) in 🇺🇸 that I am terrified for. I'm even terrified for the not-so-good people. People I've never met but care deeply for. And honestly, I'm kind of terrified for us, too.
Please be safe. I am praying. If there is more I can do, I will.
June 22, 2025 at 2:06 AM
It feels bad here 🇨🇦 too.
