I see it kind of like the pyramid of basic needs. If you aren't worried about your own healthcare, food, and housing, you have a lot more time to worry about the rest of the world's problems. Just solving everyone's basic needs would be a giant leap forward in rising the tide for all of us.

Honestly, the best part about UBI is that it'd make my day job (working in a library) 10x easier. We struggle so badly to connect people to needed resources. Funds for ppl in need to access therapy, housing, and healthcare, as well as wider availability of those things, would be a game changer.

I also want to highlight this video, which looks at the situation from a perspective of understanding how this type of thing works in a neurodivergent brain. I am convinced this is the One True Take on what is going on re: Audra and her world.

Truthfully, though, libraries *want* people who "don't believe in us" to get a library card and use our services. We want ppl to realize how much we do for our community and how important free access to information is to a democracy. That's the only way people might change their minds.

(This might be too niche of a reference for people who weren't obsessed with the Eragon books as children, so, for context, Nar Garzhvog is the leader of the Urgal army, who are basically orcs and get a redemption arc later in the series. Nasuada is a human leader who KICKS ASS.)
