In Swahili, time is broken up into “Sasa” (present & immediate future) and “Zamani” (distant past). There’s no distant future since it never existed. Over our life, we slowly move from Sasa, backwards in time until the moment nobody who knew us is alive, at which point we exist in Zamani. (2/4)
