yeah definitely seems that way, I really like Ragnar Tørnquist's games so it was such a trip out finding out about Dustborn then finding out about the stupid hysteria around it

Also Hollow Knight seems really good for those who are into it and I'm very proud of it as an Australian but yeah nah I think the flow and aesthetic of it just doesn't quite scratch any of my itches. Wish it did. Gaming

i've been looking for a game to play and I lost interest in Hollow Knight so I booted Dustborn and found myself enjoying the first hour of it which makes me think my taste was cosmically designed to annoy strangers on the internet. I'm not trying to be contrarian but even I find me a bit annoying

getting annoyed at comments is bad practice but if you'll indulge me - some of the dumbest comments I get frame my negative criticism of a game as "complaining"

like trying to thoughtfully analyse a work and having it interpreted as complaining is so stupid man. you're literally watching analysis

The Fortnite/Peacemaker saga is illustrative of how utterly reductive most IP use in games is. Commodification of characters and stories with so little respect for the source works that ‘oops we put a [spoiler] in a kid’s game’ is an actual outcome.

I know we were all counting down the days until the enshittification of Gamepass, and it hasn't been at it's peak for a while, but as a Call of Duty sicko I still saw decent value in it. Truly incredibly how fast they've torepedoed it though, thank u business genius and fellow gamer Phil

people joke that they collect dust but Xbox Series X has actually been my main platform for years because I really like quick resume, backwards compatibility (aka Skate 3), and GamePass. Backcompat stopped adding games years ago and Gampass just jumped to $36 so I reckon it's time to sell this thing

Ha look I'm on a small tirade against remakes lately but this one is so non invasive that I agree, I'm mostly just happy I'll be able to play it on my TV. That said I think I'd prefer only controller support rather than any graphical changes, like a Heretic/Hexen style port

I've started buying physical new-ish games second hand then selling them once I'm finished which is my okay cheapskate strategy lol. Kinda feels like renting but new games are just so hard to justify rn
