We DO have a far bigger problem - one that nobody in the media's talking about. The words 'mental illness' gives you a big hint as to that problem. A 2nd big hint: Trump didn't like Maduro dancing when Trump thought he should have been feeling threatened by his ALL MIGHTY powers. Mental Illness.

May #MayorMamdani do well. His heart's in the right place; may his actions succeed. Call #democraticsocialism what you want, but to my mind it's about having compassion for others & taking accurate reads of entrenched needs - & believing that most people are working hard, not asking for a handout.

I could be wrong, but it seems to me that his military activity has been accelerating since Oct. 10th, when #Trump received news that Venezuelan #Machado, not he, had won. Is it just a coincidence that he's been uber-focused on #Venezuela since? His narcissism guaranteed a huge reaction that news.

Living in #NC, this story is almost too painful to read. As little boys (most of them), these legislators were perhaps never taught about losing well ... it's become so unacceptable to #NCRepublicans that they will trash democracy to avert it. It's all a me-me-me-must-come-out-on-top game to them.

A pattern is clear: as #Trump's narcissistic megalomania grows, he wants fingers in every pie EXCEPT the Needs-of-Americans pie. That, he's trashed & wiped its annoying smell off his fingers. #Ballroom dimensions, Greenland, getting comics fired...those are the pies he cares to plunk his fingers in.

As a therapist, I shouldn't be so astonished that an administration rife w/people hungry for power, attention and/or $, who subconsciously deny having that need, can't tolerate need in others. So they cut off funds for healthcare & food, here & abroad; in a word, they kill. Hunger invites cruelty.

None of this is news. It just raises the question why #Wiles is working for #Trump? Perhaps she's in the vein of #JohnKelly, one of Trump's Chief of Staffs in the first term: better to be on the inside and rein in his worst impulses. But there are so many of those ... it's hard to succeed at that.

In the Bulwark article, #Trump once again describes himself while ostensibly describing another person: derangement, paranoia ... we know WHO THAT is. It wasn't #RobReiner, may he rest in peace. May WE all rest in peace once #Trump is gone AND America votes sensibly, even morally.

Hurrah! BUT, first consider that a mass action could result in a Pentagon-like "press corps" at the WH. In fact, could these insults be baits to set up a pretext for that? I doubt it. Trump's psychology is warped enough to react with insults whenever he feels even slightly under threat.

There is a deep deficit in moral education, a chasm, that so many MAGA folk in the news seem to embody. Psychopathy in some cases. Terrifying and makes me wonder how the country went wrong decades ago, when these MAGAers were kids.
