This week, the City launch automated enforcement of speed limits at five high-risk intersections as part of a traffic camera safety pilot program. The pilot is a key part of the City’s award-winning Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic deaths and severe injuries on Minneapolis streets.

Yesterday, staff gave an update on the progress developing the Minneapolis Democracy Center, including renderings of the building design at 3000 Minnehaha Ave. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2026 and be completed in 2027.

The neighborhood assistance center is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today, Sept. 21 for anyone impacted by recent shootings or affected by violence. The center is located at The Family Partnership - 1527 East Lake St. (Enter on Bloomington Ave).
