are either of them bastions of sound design? no not necessarily. but they did inform the landscape for both writing structure and How sound is used to carry those things when committed to be used sparingly. if you want✨Sound✨ then yeah our modern peers like TSV and Red Valley need to be considered.
audio drama specifically is just such a massive and historical medium, it’s been poorly archived over the years but holy shit we still have more surviving forebears than we have any right to. yes i love TMA like the rest of you, but go listen to The Archers. genuinely. go listen to Pseudopod.
this podcast will stay nameless because 1.) with sleuthing you could figure it out and 2.) fans for it are so passionate i don’t want to step on any toes, and i Do love it dearly. but it’s so vital to step outside of your wheelhouse every once in a while. hear what sound can *actually* be.
