This might not be entirely what you're on about, but I think the culture around video games, and the medium itself will become much healthier once people are mostly playing old games *they don't remember, and can't remember*, the medium needs to age out it's oldest audiences.

The worst parts of Windows 11 is just hardware requirements (That aren't even that extreme, and Linux too can benefit a lot from a TPM2 + secureboot, just people want to be stubborn anyway) and AI slop shit that can be completely disabled anyway

Can't stand people who know literally nothing about design explaining why new thing is a bad design because it's simply different than the old thing that was even more arbitrary but they got used to it

And I say this not as a hater, but someone who likes video games and wish they uh did more... I want to get the same fulfillment I get out of listening to a good album, watching a great film, book, etc and I'm not getting that kind of knock my socks off feeling from video games
