1/7 Just wrapped up 19 days in Morocco! 🇲🇦 We came with a very open mind, looking to immerse ourselves in the local culture rather than find comforts from home.

Sharing this whole experience with @miriamyed.bsky.social 💕was truly beautiful and made the trip amazing

Here’s our honest take:

Our flight tomorrow is at 6 a.m. We were told to get to the Casablanca airport 2.5 hours in advance because of the tight security there. Our decision? Go out tonight and just head back to the hotel to pick up our bags. We’ll have 3 hours to get some sleep while on board 😉😉

Surprised by the great kosher options here in Casablanca!

Tonight’s dinner of grilled skewers and sausages was incredible. Morocco definitely hasn’t disappointed on any front, least of all the food.

Cloudy afternoon at the Great Mosque. As a Jew visiting, I’m struck by the Mellah spirit of this city. The intricate details in this stone reflect the same artistry found in our old synagogues nearby.

The Jews would very much like to be excluded from Eric Adams's redemption narrative, thank you very much.
Eric Adams has apparently been in Congo in addition to Dubai this month, he said on Fox Business this morning.

He's back in NYC today to announce "New York City Coin," a crypto token, the proceeds of which he says will be used to fight antisemitism and "anti-Americanism."

Still dreaming of the Sahara. ✨ I was worried about the camel ride at first, but I eventually found the rhythm! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, topped off by unforgettable sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights. 🐪🌅🌌

We had a really nice dinner at a little spot in Casablanca; a well deserved treat!

We’re staying in Quartier Gauthier and it’s clear that Casablanca isn't the traditional Morocco we experienced over the last two weeks; it's definitely the country's economic hub.

With everything going on in the world, I know a vacation post might seem small. Still, I wanted to share a few bright moments from our trip with you all.

In a season of uncertainty, Shabbat reminds us of what is eternal: the warmth of community, the power of rest, and the hope for a better world.

Even far from home, we feel the heartbeat of our heritage and the strength of our shared bond.

x isn't restricting deepfakes; it’s monetizing them. It’s the typical musk playbook: remove all guardrails, then (just like with FSD) shift the entire burden of responsibility onto the user when things go wrong.

I wouldn’t say this was a top-three highlight of the trip, but it was definitely a unique experience.
We visited Fez’s tanneries this morning and they are a true step back in time. The reality far exceeded our expectations!

We kept mint leaves to our noses to handle the scent, and our English-speaking host was such a lucky find. Absolutely worth it!

We had a wonderful first visit to the Mellah of Fez today. Established in 1438, it was Morocco’s first Jewish quarter; even though the population has changed, it is a powerful place to walk through.

Bonus: We got a great tip on where to find our Challah for tonight! 🤗

Leaving the Sahara and moving to Fes now. We’ll never forget the star-filled skies or watching the dunes turn golden at sunrise and sunset. Even with limited amenities (no internet 😆), the beauty of the oasis, the nomadic traditions and the camel treks made it a once-in-a-lifetime experience! 🐪🇲🇦✨

Now is not the time to say, 'I didn't vote for him, so let his supporters deal with it.' I was taught that we are all guarantors for one another. He is the president of our country. We cannot be bystanders to our own history; we must hold him accountable, because the fate of one is the fate of all.

One more thing to love about Morocco: the Riad we are staying at. Between the breathtaking architecture (with its intricate tilework and serene courtyard) the modern amenities and the impeccable service, it is incredibly cozy and comfortable.

It is a beautiful Moroccan tradition that wherever you go, you are greeted with a delicious cup of traditional tea—a fragrant blend of green tea and nana mint.

In Morocco, bread is a community bond. It’s your fork, your spoon, and the heart of every meal. We got to try a piece straight out of the oven: warm, crusty and a total dream come true @miriamyed.bsky.social

We ducked down a tiny staircase into a semi-basement thick with woodsmoke. It’s a tight squeeze in there, dominated by a massive wood-fired oven and rows of dough waiting for the heat

One of our big Morocco dreams: visiting a communal oven. We made it happen this morning (okay, 11am, but let’s call it morning!) in the winding maze of the Marrakech Medina

In these narrow streets, many homes don't have their own ovens. Instead, you'll see people carrying wooden paddles 🧵
