Idk i see it as goofy because I'm Journaling + processing anxiety about the friend significantly more than the guy™️

Things suck sometimes but it fuels me to be individually aggressive in my work

Yes! Omg its so crazy. The other part of this is: when a lot of us in the 2000s-2010s were discovering music in this scene, specifically, we weren't as online as kids are now.

So we could be 10x cringe w/o repercussions because it was COOL to be that way. Now everyone from adults to kids judge

Maybe this is me seeking to expeditiously get fresh, new music like I did back in my college radio days. But it's still goes without noting that we aren't exploring music the same we we used to even a decade ago, & that contributes to how we curate culture overall.

Something that isn't being asked/propped up is the acts that new gens are following & latch onto, like we did to those earlier acts. And vilifying the new ones (within reason ofc) & gatekeeping literal kids from avenues to discoverability, is only going to kill the scene v. allow it to progress.

I also acknowledge my privilege and biases; I've been to many fests, shows etc. over the years and I'm getting very burnt out from seeing the same sets over and over again to please the mainstream - nostalgic market.

Discovering up & comers + those you don't know? And a few bigger names to draw?

If someone is looking for pure nostalgia acts ONLY, then why not just go to #WWWYF? Or go to a show when that act is on tour. Many of them have been over the past 3 years.
