The Unfollow lists exist because these authors, influencers, musicians, and celebrities stayed silent all year. Their only public move was sympathy for Charlie Kirk. That silence was their stance—now the lists make the point clear.

We no longer support those that don’t support us.

Radical change in education lies in emotional regulation. Teaching ourselves and our students how to regulate emotions is the THING that will make our schools, society, and world a better place.

Phang: We don’t need the Ten Commandments hanging in Texas schools. What we need is common-sense gun legislation—so the kids can live.

If my kid goes to a public school in Texas and they can’t come home alive, I don’t give a shit about the Ten Commandments being posted on the wall.

Teaching is the most remarkable and empowering profession because of this! We are difference makers! We are touching the lives of those who will shape our tomorrows. I am constantly in awe of my colleagues and peers. I’m amazed by the phenomenal work that teachers do every day and every year.

Today’s glimmer: Owen making a puddle in the dirt and squishing his feet into the mud. He giggled so much!

A school I once worked at has decided to get rid of art for KINDERGARTENERS!!! 5-year olds need art to help develop their fine motor skills, creativity, and so much more! Our kids deserve better! #teaching #edusky #education

This moment from Ted Lasso is one of the most powerful tv clips. I feel like I heal a little more every time I see it. What if we could help children now so they don’t need to put in healing work later? That’s what I work to do in my classroom. #edusky #teaching #mentalwellbeing

Owen said “I love you ma” for the first time without me saying it first. So I took this photo because it’s my newest core memory. 🧡 #toddlermom

When children have the skills to be emotionally regulated, they will be more present in their learning and your classroom runs more smoothly!
I have a free webinar that shows you strategies to bring mindfulness into your classroom. Let me know if you’d like the link! 🫶🏻 #edusky #teaching

My reaction when administrators CONTINUOUSLY say “Use PBIS” or “Have you tried positive reinforcement or building a relationship?” in response to teachers asking for support with behavior challenges.
a man says " you keep using that word . i do not think it means what you think it means "

I don’t know if I’ll return to the classroom in the fall.
My son might not be at a safe spot in his cancer treatment for daycare.
Over half of the staff at my school are leaving or thinking about it due to admin/district.
I don’t know how best to help and it’s stressful.

Sunday scaries are real! It’s valid if you’re dealing with them. Here are some ideas to finding calm when the Scaries show up:
🫶🏻Stand barefoot in the grass
🫶🏻Meet up with/call a friend
🫶🏻Journal dump
🫶🏻Light a candle
🫶🏻Comfort show/movie (I recommend Ted Lasso)
What would you add to this list? #EduSky

Mindful Moments in the Classroom…

Instead of saying “Breathe in, breathe out,” try saying “Sniff in the roses, blow out the candles.” This tells kids when to use their nose and mouth for breathing.

I’m unable to work as a teacher while my son is at the start of his chemo treatment, so I’m going to work from home to earn my Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator Certification AND my Yoga Teacher Certification! It’ll be a LOT, but I’m ready for it! :)
