I think the reason I'm so triggered by the state of the US is because I grew up with a man who is very alike to the current admin in personality and abusive tactics. I escaped that world in my 30s. I changed my name to remove the last traces of my abuser. But now I'm trapped in that world again.

Every candidate for principal certification should have to spend a week being a specialist teacher. One week music, one week art, one week gym, etc. Just so they can see the crap we put up with as "not the general ed teacher." Like seriously, you try teaching 636 kids in a year. >.>

Catmas tree 1.0 in 😅 I have a way to go before I'll call it done, but I do know I need to add more support for the gingerbread house on top. Trying to figure out how to do that, but still make it able to come apart in the 3 pieces it already does for easy transport/storage.

Rescheduling a concert sucks.
But being sick sucks too.
All said and done, I'd rather reschedule then not be able to function.
Just the K-1 show, choir is still on for tomorrow. Better get myself ready, gonna be a long day!

Thumb update: not broken and tendon still attached. So, rest and let it heal. Made recordings for the kids to sing to, so concerts are covered. Not ideal, but I think it will work well.

Don't sprain your thumb 2 weeks before your winter concerts. You will have at least one massive panic attack while you try to figure out what to do.
