I'm pretty fond of the title itself.
The phrase "cheapjack gentleman" really clicked when I read it in a Victorian slang dictionary. It's an oxymoron that describes the protagonists perfectly - pretending to be honorable with shady business.
It's also a very unique phrase.

Putting together some 3D refs with base meshes and sculpting! I'm a total beginner at 3D modelling, but I think it will be very useful in the long run.

Wilkinson was originally going to be in his 30's, not 40's (he's 49 canonically).
I made him when I was 19, so 30's seemed older then. I revised his age later, when 30's didn't seem "middle aged" after all...HA. Haaaaa...

Though I changed a lot, the basic idea of his backstory is still similar!

I'm always learning new things from Cheapjack Gentlemen research - I learned recently from the accounts of the porter/assistant involved in the Burke & Hare murders (main inspo for Thompkins!) is that he was lying about the corpse costs and then pocketing the difference.
Thompkins would NEVER.
