But total deaths shouldn’t be the only metric we use to measure “the worst of it”. More and more people are becoming chronically ill and disabled every year, with many leaving the workforce due to their illnesses. IMO, saying “during COVID” can disregard all of those people.

I will continue to mask in all indoor public spaces. Even if a vaccine that prevents transmission were to arise, I’d still mask to prevent flu, measles, RSV and other nasties. The link between so called harmless viruses and chronic illness is too strong to ignore.

It’s already happening. An immune compromised friend was agonizing yesterday about how so many people have cancer. When I asked how she protects her immune system from viruses, she told me she washes her hands a lot and does in person Zumba classes. 🤦‍♀️

As a fitness professional with several decades of experience, I wholeheartedly agree. Strength training (along with balance exercises) should be prioritized in women, especially over age 35 when hormone profiles may begin to change.
