Not suprising. Jane Leavy, an amazing sports biographer, said she wanted to write a bio on Billie Jean King but the idea was shot down because the publishers were like "nobody wants to read that" - and then soon after, BJK wrote a best-selling autobiography, disproving what the publishers said.

If anything has frustrated me about the past few days, it's exactly this. Cohen could have paid Pete what he wanted ten times over and it would not have made a dent in his net worth.

I remind myself that it's a game whenever I get irrationally upset or angry over something - be it a player's performance or a debate over "who's better". It's been a rough few days, ngl. It hurts to watch Pete walk away especially... but it's baseball. What can you do? Life goes on.

I'm skeptical too. It seems like its set up to not do well but I hope I'm wrong!
I don't watch softball, mainly due to not being able to get it anywhere where I am unfortunately but I love watching highlights! My two favorite sports are baseball and tennis more than anything, though!

As a baseball fan, I'm SO glad we're soon gonna have women's teams because I'm tired of trying to find a positive male figures - there have been SO few throughout history it's depressing - in the middle of all the conservative AHs who make up majority of MLB.

I don't blame Pete at all. It's his right and frankly, the Mets could easily afford to give him that much, ten times over (if not more). I'm sorry he walked away in the end and it's genuinely sad. But I remind myself it's a game. I wish him all the best, truly!
